“Israel after the flesh”, the “natural branches” are indeed lost, and have overall been blinded in unbelief, and need to come to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus in order to be saved. Yet it is an error to believe that there can be no furture reversal of this curse to enlightenment and repentance unto life. Romans 9-11 (among other places) makes it very clear, esp. the last chapter, that Israel after the flesh is yet covenantally Beloved for the father’s sake -which is the main reason God ever loved this rebellious people (Dt. 7:7,
– and yet they will overall be unblinded and come to the Lord. What’s left of them. “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob” (Rom 11:26).
