September 13, 2008911 Happens Every day in our Country
September 11, 2008The equivalent of the terror attack of 9/11/2001 occurs every single day in the U.S. What am I talking about? According to Wikianswers 2,998 people were killed that day in the attack on the world trade center. This number may be somewhat lower, if you include those dying due to complications of 911 (i.e. complications) the number is higher, maybe upwards of 4,000.
Imagine this a daily “911″. There are more killed daily through abortion than were killed at the twin towers. On a daily basis,currently, there are between 3,000-3,800 abortions performed daily in the U.S. In our state of North Carolina there are between 96-100 abortions performed daily.
Back on that September day in 2001, we all saw the horror and felt the outrage of the act of violence that took place in NYC. But what has happened to our outrage for the murder of the unborn happening daily?
Let me hit you with this fact. Abortion is the leading cause of death in North Carolina, according to the State Center for Health Statistics, NC. Number two is Heart Disease related deaths at 48 deaths per day and number three is Cancer related deaths at 46/deaths per day. Do you know that abortion is the number one (#1) surgical procedure performed in the U.S.?
Think of those poor unsuspecting souls that were hit out of nowhere on that day in September 2001. They were going about their business, doing their daily tasks when a huge jet crashed into their workplace, killing many instantly and leading many others to a more lingering and painful death. It is so with the preborn or unborn. Those little souls are resting and growing, going about their daily tasks of cell division, swimming in amniotic fluid, and getting ready to be born. Then along comes, out of nowhere, the hard metal forceps of the abortionist invading the baby’s place of safety. Most are killed rather quickly, though for others it takes longer and there is more severe pain.
Both abortion and the events of 911 are similiar in other ways. Those buildings in NYC have not been rebuilt, there is still a big hole where the destruction occured, the infrastructure was destroyed to the foundations. Those 16 acres are still a wasteland and a place of desolation. And so it is with Abortion. Those unborn babies are dead, murdered in a cold and terrorizing way. The women (mothers) of those preborn children are often a barren wasteland. The mother’s infrastructure is damaged emotionally, physically, spiritually. Many times there is a hole left in the heart which will never be repaired, at least in this lifetime.
Today is a day of infamy for our country, as we remember the tragic events of 911. But the reality is that every day is a day of infamy for the U.S. As long as there is abortion on demand, legalized in every state in this union, the terror continues.
Wake up people, please. God sees all that is happening. He hates it. I hate it. You too should hate it. The bible tells us to hate what is evil and love what is good-Romans 12:9.
Let us show our love for these helpless preborn babies by letting our Love be without dissimulation.
God bless the families and friends of 911 victims and God bless the unborn and their families and friends.
Dirty House or Dirty Heart?
September 7, 2008
I wonder what Mr. or Mrs. Clean would think? Levels of cleanliness vary widely with culture, background, geographical location, ethics, religion, etc. Maybe you’ve heard that Brazilians are famous for their personal cleanliness. It is said this is mostly due to the fact that their climate is tropical. And perhaps you’ve heard about the French, being famous historically,for taking a bath only once a week. Well, on and on it goes around the world…
Some people seem to feel clean if their surroundings are clean and fresh smelling. Some people can feel fine with a more “rustic” decor. Some people can actually live in in squalor and filth and feel okay. And some people can actually be homeless altogether.
I wonder what it is that is the determining factor what one requires for one’s surroundings? I mean a person could live in a pristine palace and still hate themselves and their life. And conversely a person could live under a bridge with the rats and feel at peace inside.
Some folks feel that if they “appear” clean then they “are” clean. But we all know there are many differing definitions of “clean”. What if a person looks clean, but inside their body they are carrying some horrible disease or infection? Or what if someone looks filthy outwardly, but inside they are clean and healthy and have a pure heart.
You know Jesus was said to be a man that was outwardly unremarkable. He was not handsome or “hot” he did not look like Brad Pitt. Jesus was born in a cow’s trough. He was a carpenter. He likely was a rough and tough type of guy. We know he walked a lot, so he probably had some muscularity. And we know that Jesus was perfect in heart. His heart was perfect toward God the Father in every way.
We are not so. We as humans, are dirty both inwardly and outwardly. Inwardly we are dirty due to SIN.
How can we get clean?….Well we can use soap and shampoo and even clorox and lysol for the outside and for our surroundings. But how can we be clean inside???? Well, only the Blood of Jesus can cleanse us from our unrighteousness and sin.
So, I wonder which is better? To live in a dirty house and have a clean heart or live in a clean house and have a dirty heart? Or perhaps better yet…to live in a clean house and have a clean heart! All I know is that perfume cannot cover up my stink nor good works cover up my sins!
I am looking forward to the one clean place-it is called Heaven. And it is so beautiful that there is a sea of glass there. There is a throne with rubies, emeralds,gold. And BEST of all there is JESUS my Redeemer-THE ULTIMATELY CLEAN ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: Remember you can’t rely on patron saints i.e. the Patron Saint of cleanliness: “St. Dustin of Yourpants”.
~~~”Niche-ify”
August 31, 2008I started yet another wordpress blog in an effort to further ‘niche-ify’ my work. So much of what I wanted to post about in www.noblevine.net was personal/ other ministry stuff. So, as of late, I realized the necessity of having a blog that specifically focuses on Pro-Life issues. So the name of my new blog is www.preborn.wordpress.com
Talking about my husband, he has also ”spunoff” from www.postalheaven.com to his new Linux- realated site called www.minilini.wordpress.com Paul liked my suggestion to call it minilini, so it stuck. And at Paul’s suggestion for my Pro-Life work I too am further ‘niche-ifying” my content. Our blogs have doubled so please visit them all! We look forward to your readership and will be happy to reply to your comments or questions.
My WordPress dashboard will never be the same again…
Nice note from Susan-Thanks for your support.
August 30, 2008 Susan Says:
I came across your blog through your post about campmeetings and decided to read a more recent post. I soooo agree with this. I especially appreciated what you said here:
“Feeding the hungry for a day is temporal. Telling them the Gospel and how to attain Eternal Life through Christ is what matters, forever. Yes, Jesus loved the people. He draws all men unto repentance via his Goodness. But, true love-the love of Christ is to reveal Truth. It is not True Love to allow people to remain ignorant- in their sins- and thus wind up in Hell.”
Oh how people need to know the truth of the Gospel. There is no good work we can do to earn our way to Heaven, only by the grace and forgiveness of God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ our Savior.
I am greatly saddened and may I say outraged too to hear about a stripper performance at a church. Those who have trusted Christ as Savior need to stand up and tell the truth in love. Sometimes that truth hurts, but better to be right with God and be scorned in the eyes of people.
This post makes me think of Psalm 1:
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night…”
Keep telling the truth!
What Is Marriage?
It is sharing and caring
Giving and forgiving
Loving and being loved…
Walking hand in hand
Talking heart to heart
Seeing through each other’s eyes.
Laughing Together
Weeping Together
Praying Together
And always trusting
and believing
and thanking God
For each other.
Props to Cook Out
August 3, 2008I just went through the drive-through at Cook Out today, as I tend to do from time to time. For those who don’ t live in North Carolina, you can look up the Wikipedia def. for the restaurant. They have great burgers and “fancy” shakes. It is a North Carolina chain.
But the main reason I want to give them props is for their boldness in acknowledging God, i.e. the God of the Bible with Scripture verses printed on their cups, bags, french-fry bags, etc. For example, “John 3:16″ and “God Bless America” are printed on the cups, “God Bless the USA” and Galatians 6:10 are printed on the french fry bags and “THANK YOU GOD FOR AMERICA” and Psalms 119:165 are printed on the full size bags.
The chain was started in Greensboro NC in 1989 by Mr. Morris Reaves, who currently runs the chain with his son.
If you travel through NC in the summer I highly suggest trying a double Watermelon shake and a cheeseburger and onion rings. My grandmother loves the shakes the most and my husband loves the Cook Out tray with a cheeseburger the most. I actually enjoy their low-carb chicken plate sometimes….that is.
To finish I would just like to say thanks to the Reaves for standing up for the God of Christianity and Jesus our Lord within the framework of you business. You have set a good example.
Cheers!
