NC needs a Memorial for the Unborn

September 4, 2008 by

As some of you may know there is a National Memorial for the Unborn in Chattanooga Tennessee http://www.memorialfortheunborn.org .   And there are other memorial “gardens” or parks in other states. In fact there is a memorial garden in Boone, NC.  And some of our local churches create “seasonal” memorials, such as the grave-yard(s) to the unborn with the little white crosses. These are all wonderful…But we need something more permanent and something that will show the reality of what has been done-the murder of innocent babies. It could be a form of both repentence and healing for many people in our state.

I and others want there to be a Memorial to the Unborn in our state’s capital in Raleigh.  Most recent statistics (2005 data) shows that NC makes up approximately 2.5 percent of the national yearly average of 1.3 million —http://www.ncrtl.org/nc_reported_abortion_statistics_2005.pdf  In 2005 there were 32,335 abortions performed in NC. And abortion is the most commonly performed surgical procedure in the U.S.  Since 1973 when Roe v. Wade nationally legalized abortion on demand, there have been approximately 50 million abortions performed in the U.S. And it continues today to the tune of between 3,500-3,800 abortions performed daily in the U.S.

We are living in the midst of a National Holocaust and we, as North Carolinians, I believe should do something to remember these lost innocent lives and perhaps to prevent more deaths via abortion from happening.

I hope to write to our Governor, Congress-people, and Senators to petition them to create a Memorial to the Unborn in Raleigh. If you feel as I do, please write to me and give perhaps we can work together on this project. Just leave a comment on my blog. And I will get back to you asap.

If we can conceive it we can achieve it!

~~~”Niche-ify”
August 31, 2008 by
I started yet another wordpress blog in an effort to further ‘niche-ify’ my work.  So much of what I wanted to post about in www.noblevine.net was personal/ other ministry stuff.  So, as of late,  I realized the necessity of having a blog that specifically focuses on Pro-Life issues.  So the name of my new blog is www.preborn.wordpress.com
Talking about my husband, he has also ”spunoff” from  www.postalheaven.com  to his new Linux- realated site called www.minilini.wordpress.com  Paul liked my suggestion to call it minilini, so it stuck. And at Paul’s suggestion for my Pro-Life work I too am further ‘niche-ifying” my content.  Our blogs have doubled so please visit them all!  We look forward to your readership and will be happy to reply to your comments or questions.
My WordPress dashboard will never be the same again…
Nice note from Susan-Thanks for your support.
Susan  Says:
I came across your blog through your post about campmeetings and decided to read a more recent post. I soooo agree with this. I especially appreciated what you said here:
“Feeding the hungry for a day is temporal. Telling them the Gospel and how to attain Eternal Life through Christ is what matters, forever. Yes, Jesus loved the people. He draws all men unto repentance via his Goodness. But, true love-the love of Christ is to reveal Truth. It is not True Love to allow people to remain ignorant- in their sins- and thus wind up in Hell.”
Oh how people need to know the truth of the Gospel. There is no good work we can do to earn our way to Heaven, only by the grace and forgiveness of God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ our Savior.
I am greatly saddened and may I say outraged too to hear about a stripper performance at a church. Those who have trusted Christ as Savior need to stand up and tell the truth in love. Sometimes that truth hurts, but better to be right with God and be scorned in the eyes of people.
This post makes me think of Psalm 1:
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night…”
Keep telling the truth!
The Christian’s Plumbline
August 28, 2008 by
“Thus he showed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.  And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou?  And I said, A plumbline.  Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by the many more”  (Amos 7:7-8)
OUR PLUMBLINE
This world’s Creator, Savior and Lord
is Jesus, God’s own Son.
He did destroy the Devil’s works
and in spoiling his powers He won!  (1 Jn. 3:8; Col. 2:15)
It didn’t seem He was victorious at first
defeated apparently.
He suffered much, shed innocent blood
and died for you and me.
God’s ways are surely not our ways
since three days later, He rose!
Jesus is God manifested in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16)
to save our immortal souls!
To those who really don’t believe
and say they really do.
God knows their hearts.  They can’t fool Him.
He knows just who is who.
Jesus is our Plumbline separating the bad today;
and they, the spoiled, are destined for Hell,
sentenced there to stay.  (How sad!)
If you and I turn to darkness,
we lose God’s Light to see.
To try to serve two masters,
we’re as blind as blind can be!
How can we forsake our Master
when He paid such a high price to save?
He is our only Savior
triumphant from the grave.
On the threshing floor, God separates
the wheat and leaves the tare. (Matt. 13:25)
Takes the humble sheep away with Him
and leaves the proud goats there!
He stresses, “Narrow is the way,
and His sheep are very few.”
That’s because His sheep obey Him.
Hope that’s me and you!
If we turn away from sin,
as we call upon His name,
On Judgment Day, we won’t be there
to bow our heads in shame.  (Matt. 25:32,33)
Stripper in “church”- anarchists flaunting their rebellion
August 24, 2008 by
Greensboro, NC
*note: though I attended this event, I left the room before the stripper’s perfomance, as I did not want to take part in the humiliating spectacle.
The Bible speaks of the Habitation of demons. Rev. 19:2 KJV “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.  This verse describes what I witnessed at the Food Not Bombs “farewell event” at St. Mary’s Episcopal “church” on Friday night.  I guess I knew to some extent what I was getting myself into, as I had been in years past from time to time, but it was even more grievous than I had anticipated.
I am not trying to be negative or judgmental here, though I am sure some will accuse me of that…However I am writing about this event as a real-life illustration of what happens when the “world” gets into and takes over the “church”.  I went to this event only to support my husband, because he has been fed by FNB over the years and he was asked to speak. So I went for him.
I had prayed before going.  I went knowing that I was not in agreement with the idealologies of this group and that I would likely feel uncomfortable because of that and because I already knew from my previous experiences that much sin is abounding there and that demonic forces were at work at St. Mary’s.
The Food Not Bombs folks seem at first glance like nice enough people. They are community supporters and activists. Hey, they do good works by feeding the hungry! How can you criticize that?  Afterall Jesus said : “Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.” Mat. 25:45  Jesus meant that, hey, if you fed the homeless, it’s like unto feeding me. I get that… But what struck me was that the people who go into this place may not realize that they just might me selling their “birthright for a bowl of pottage”, like Esau did. Gen.25:29  What I mean is that if one does not know Christ (lets say some homeless soul) and that person goes to a “chuch” like this because of a physical need and gets a free meal from Food Not Bombs, they will be getting their stomach full, but will they be getting their soul taken from them, Eternally?
Food Not Bombs are like secular pharisees. They are people who do “good” works for all to see. I believe they do this out of idealogical goodness and in part to quell their own consciences. They feel that they are somehow being Christ-like by feeding the hungry. But you cannot be Christ-like without Christ. This group feels they are superior because they are “tolerant” and politically correct.  From what I witnessed, it seems that both FNB and the Episcopal Church tolerate anything but true Godliness. At the event I attended I saw toleration and even celebration of sin. And if one has the audacity to say something then they will call that person judgmental.  They are not only anarchists in the sense that they eschew the law of man, but, moreover, they eschew the laws of God.  Apparently they live on the principal that “If your good works outweigh your bad works then you are fine with God and are worthy to make it to Heaven”…Feeding the hungry does not equal goodness or godliness.
Physical food is not the “be all and end all” for people. What these downtrodden/ homeless/ souls need is indeed physical food, but more importantly, they need Spiritual Food. I understand the concept of helping people in order to win their audience. But that is not what is going on here. Perhaps some of the other churches are doing a better job of that. You feed the people and then you win a chance to minister to them.  But if you read the bible you will see many followed Jesus because of the miracles he performed. In other words because of the food he provided or the healings he perfomed. But those people did not love Jesus, they just loved what they could get from Him.
Feeding the hungry for a day is temporal. Telling them the Gospel and how to attain Eternal Life through Christ is what matters, forever.   Yes, Jesus loved the people. He draws all men unto repentance via his Goodness. But, true love-the love of Christ is to reveal Truth. It is not True Love to allow people to remain ignorant- in their sins- and thus wind up in Hell.  Real love, tells people the truth. And there is one Truth, not many truths. Our culture is deceived and believes that there are many paths to God. That is a LIE. Jesus said: ” I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes unto the Father (heaven), but through me.” John 14:6.
So, does Jesus love the stripper who is so deceived that he shakes his hips and takes off his clothes (even in a church). Of course. But the love of God would not leave the young man that way. Love would show the young man a better way. Love would not condemn him for what he did, but instead draw him out of the muck and mire of his sinfulness.  I think that young man is desperately seeking love. He probably does what he does for attention and in an attempt to receive love. I would say to that young man; true love is not found in man, but in God, through the real person of Jesus. You may get attention from what you do, but you will not get true love.
The church has failed. The church has given up the truth. They have allowed in doctrines of demons. They have exchanged the truth of God for a lie and this is and abomination to God. I truly pray for their repentance. If there is no repentance then that church is “Ichabod”-meaning the Glory has departed. 1 Sam. 4:21.
We have all failed and “come short of the Glory of God” Rom 3:23. Am I better than any of the people I am talking about? NO. The difference is that I now know the Truth. Through the Grace of God I was lead to repentance over 12 years ago. Jesus went dumpster-diving for me. He picked me up out of the muck and mire of my sins and he saved me. He is still working on me. I am no one to judge, but Christ in me-the Holy Spirit-is. He gives me the discernment to see the truth. Does the truth hurt? Sometimes it does. But in the end it is the best medicine. The truth helps us to change and grow.
I hope you will let Him (Jesus) have a chance to allow you to “see”.  To FNB, please keep doing your good works, but please do them with an eternal purpose and reward by accepting Christ and making Him the center.  You will never regret it.
Please, don’t miss out on His Amazing Grace.
TGFM- thank God for mom
August 23, 2008 by
The more I am writing about pro-life issues, the more I have begun to recognize my gratefulness and thankfulness toward my own mother.
My mom brought me into this world. She took care of me and nurtured me in all of my needs since day one. I hope I don’t take her for granted. But at times, I may.
I mom is unique and one-of-a kind. When God created my mom, Jane, he broke the mold. She is very intelligent, wise,kind,giving, and caring.
My mom raised me as a single mom. She and my dad were divorced when I was 2 years old. So my mom took on the responsibility of raising me. She also taught high school English full time. She taught literature and writing, and grammar to junior and seniors. Her student all raved about her being their favorite teacher. I think the main reason for this was that fact that she has such an entertaining and interesting personality. She should have gone to Hollywood. In the classroom she was the best actress. She kept them on their toes by understanding and relating to them at their level. She really had a way of getting the kids to want to learn.
It is too bad she has been retired 10 years. She still has a lot to offer. I hope she will write a book, like she has wanted.
I thank God for giving me my one and only mom!
Sweet Grapes
August 20, 2008 by
ISAIAH 49
ISRAEL IN THE SPRIT
The woes of Isaiah five disappear at Isaiah forty-nine
as true Israel appears producing sweet grapes of new wine.
(Is. 49:13)
A people “graven upon the palm of God’s hand,”
(Isa. 49:16; Ex. 13:9)
follow the Word of God and obeys God’s command.
(Jn. 14:15; Lk. 6:46)
True Israel is one that is one from within,
(Luke 17:21; Rom. 9:6)
who repents and believes Christ saves from all sin,
(1 John 1:7,9; Matt. 1:21)
who flees from all evil, lives a spotless life,
(1 Tim. 6:11; Eph. 5:27)
who is meek, not offended, and keeps from all strife.
(Phil. 2:3)
There’s only one flock and one Shepherd, you see.
(Isa. 56:8; Ps. 23:1; Jn. 10:16; 1 Pet. 5:2)
A true sheep hears the Shepherd and obeys Him with glee.
(John 10:27)
He proclaims by God’s Spirit the Gospel today.
(Prov. 11:30)
That Christ suffered, and died, and rose the third day.
(1 Cor. 15:1-4)
Since the Spirit and the Word of God do agree,
(1 John 5:7)
believing Jews and Gentiles obey sincerely.
(Rom. 3:29-31; Acts 11:1; Isa. 49:22)
In them is the Truth, devoid of all lies.
(Rev. 14:5; Eph. 5:27)
They’re washed by the Blood, and sin in them dies.
(Rev. 1:5; 1 Peter 1:18-19)
They’ll not hunger nor thirst in the heat of the day.
(Is. 49:10;Rev. 7:16)
They’re led by springs of waters by the Spirit His Way.
(Ps. 1:3; 92:12-14)
Like grapes on the branches bearing fruit from the Vine,
(Jn. 15:1-8)
wait on the Lord, like the sun they do shine.
(Is. 40:31; 49:23; Matt. 13:43)
Believe the truth, these “BLESSED OF THE LORD.”
(1 Co. 13:6; 1 Pet. 1:22)
True Jews “put on Christ Jesus,” their God.
(Gal. 3:27-29; Rom. 4:16)
It’s “by grace through faith” God repeats so often.
(Eph. 2:8; Rom. 4:16; Matt. 16:17)
Jews and Gentiles sealed, by faith go to heaven.
(Rev. 3:12; 7:3)
Why?  There is neither Jew nor Greek, nor bond nor free.
(Gal. 3:28)
male nor female in Christ’s one flock, you see.
(John 10:16; Isa. 56:8)
True believers are faultless having no guile.
(Rev. 14:5; Zeph. 3:13)
Stay on that narrow path, not just for awhile.
(Matt. 7:13, 14) personal
Up on Mount Zion with the Lamb they will stand.
(Rev. 14:1,4; when? Isa. 2:2)
They’ll sing a new song that’ll resound through the land.
(Rev. 14:3; 5:9)
“And no man could learn that song but the 144,000,”
you see.  (Rev. 14:3 b)
Because God gave them a pure language as pure as can be.  (Zeph. 3:9; Prov. 10;13a)
So let’s follow our Shepherd and trust Him each day.
(Jn. 10:5)
God’s road is real narrow, let’s watch, fast, and pray.
(Lk. 13:23,24)
Isaiah 5: A Song by R.A. Riel
August 19, 2008 by
ISAIAH 5
ISRAEL OF THE FLESH (the unsaved)
(SONG)
My well beloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill.
He planted, removed the stones, built a tower and cared for it until…
the very day He saw in horror that His vineyard was defiled.
This precious vineyard that He had cared for
brought forth grapes bitter and wild.
CHORUS:Israel, oh Israel, My people:
oh this vineyard speaks of you.
With much love I toiled with sweat and blood, Israel.
Now there’s only one thing left for me to do.
Israel, oh Israel, My people.
Yes, this vineyard speaks of you.
With much pain, I prepared for you, My glory.
You’ve turned wild.  You’re the ones I never knew!
“Woe, Woe, Woe, Israel, My people,
your Greed and lust are pridefully strong.
Woe to you, My vineyard people.
You pretend you’re mine and think you do no wrong.
But, tribulation, great destruction is upon you
for the millions of babies you let kill.
Hear My three woes.  Hear the trumpets.  You’re defeated.
You’re uprooted from My hill.
(Repeat first stanza of chorus.)
END: So depart.  I never knew you.  So depart.  I never knew you.
                                                                                R.A.Riel
Life is Precious
Dot Robinson Barnwell, Author
My 93 year old grandmother shows me everyday how much life is a gift.  Today my grandma had an accident and fell. She did get a big bruise on her head and face, but praise God that she is okay.
My grandmother is such a trooper. She is tough as nails. I have been learning so much from her all of my life. And I still keep learning. In the face of adversity or pain she is so strong and so faithful in a crisis. She always keeps her head about her.
I guess these things are part of what had enabled her to live to the age of 93. And amazingly, she has an older sister who is 94!  My grandmother has written and published three novels, the most recent was published when she was 90 years of age.  The titles of her books are respectively: Head Into The Wind, Shadow On The Water, and Years From Home.
Years from Home is an awesome book and a retrospective of her life in novel form. The characters in the book are actually her family members. You can purchase the book from Amazon and from Publish America.
I highly recommend you get a copy for a good read about a kinder, gentler, more Christian time in our country’ s history.
Peace.
Everlasting Love
August 11, 2008 by
This is a poem I found in the old Presbytery book, from which I also transcribed the “hell” poem.
I like this one By S.M.
Preparation to Meet God
Prepare me, gracious God
To stand before thy face;
Thy Spirit must the work perform,
For it is all of grace
In Christ’s obedience clothe,
And wash me in his blood;
So shall I lift my head with joy,
Among the sons of God.
Do thou my sins subdue,
Thy sovereign love make known;
The spirit of my mind renew,
And save me in thy Son.
Let me attest thy power,
Let me thy goodness prove,
Till my full soul can hold no more
Of everlasting love.
